MEDWAY and MILLINOCKET – Phyllis D. York, 86, wife of the late Enoch York, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born July 15, 1923, in Old Town, the daughter of Vaughn and Eleanor (Paul) Wickett. Phyllis was a graduate of Old Town High School and attended Eastern Maine School of Nursing. Phyllis was a member and faithful attendee of Calvary Temple Assembly of God, East Millinocket, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of Women’s Ministries. Phyllis was a very family oriented person and drew great joy, pride and satisfaction from the activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Gwen Moore and her husband, Bruce, of Medway; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosemary Finnegan of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Phyllis was predeceased by a son, Richard York; sister, Patricia Rogers; and two brothers, Vaughn and Chris Wickett. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Regginal Adams, pastor, officiating.
