HERMON – Walter F. Goodale, 81, died Nov. 28, 2009, with his loving family by his side, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 23, 1928, in Hampden, the son of Walter and Clara (Anderson) Goodale Sr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Walter was employed with the family business, Harold’s Taxi, for many years, and later with St. Joseph Hospital for 17 years. He was an active member of RSVP and Meals for Me for 10 years. Walter was a member of Hermon and Glenburn senior citizens clubs. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Lorraine (Hitchings) Goodale of Hermon; two daughters, Pam Cyr and her husband, Llew, of Carmel and Cheryl Dunton and her husband, Willie, of Carmel; a son, Herbert Goodale and his wife, Shirley, of Texas; grandchildren, Fayedra Cyr, Jay Cyr and his wife, Susan, all of Carmel, Cassandra Gainer and her special friend, Brandon Chase, of Troy and Darell Goodale of Texas; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jasmine and Jayce Cyr of Carmel and Kayden Chase of Troy; sisters, Barbara Lord and her husband, Raymond, of Hampden and Evelyn Goodale of Brewer; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Phyllis Burgess of Hermon; and Cocoa. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Madore and her husband, Bob; and a brother, Harold Goodale and his wife, Arlene. At Walter’s request, services will be private.
