She was born Feb. 5, 1926, the eldest of four children to Harold and Velma Cullins Sewell. Lydia was a very kind and thoughtful person who never met a stranger. To know her was to love her. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Winfield Shaw; and her sister, Bette Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Greenspan and her husband, Michael, of Houston, Texas; son, Steven Ivey and his wife, Cathy, of Augusta; sister, Frances Carson of Houlton; and brother, Bill Sewell of Caribou. Lydia is also survived by her grandchildren, Amy, Dan, Elizabeth, Sam, Chris, Steve, Tammy and Lilith and their families. In addition, she is survived by very special nieces and nephews, as well as a wealth of friends. Lydia’s family and friends were so important to her and she loved each and every one dearly. There will be no service at this time. A memorial service is planned for a future date in her home state of Maine. For those who wish, donations in Lydia’s name would be greatly appreciated to the American Cancer Society or to your local humane society or animal shelter. “Go with God, Mom… until we meet again.”
