BANGOR – Vivian A. Robbins MacQueen Engelhardt, 74, passed away Dec. 3, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Clam City, Stonington, a daughter of the late Bartlett and Addie Mae (Smith) Robbins. At the age of 10 she lived with Capt. Ralph Stanley Andrews on Mark Island Light, off Stonington Harbor. She was adopted in 1948 at the age of 13 by Mac and Grace MacQueen and moved to New York City, where she finished her remaining school years. She was married in 1954 to Gerhard “Gerry” Engelhardt, an immigrant of Germany. She is survived by their three children, Suzy Shepard and her husband, Mike, of Stonington, Judy Engelhardt of Brewer and David Engelhardt of Pittsfield; and five grandchildren, Matthew and Patrick Shepard of Stonington, Kaitlyn Engelhardt of Brewer, Addie and Nathan Engelhardt of Pittsfield. She will be sadly missed by her extended relatives; and her best friends, Doug and Sandra Pratt of Bangor. A memorial service will be announced after the Christmas holiday.
