OLD TOWN – Wallace “Wally” G. Blair, 73, passed away Dec. 6, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 20, 1936, the son of Nazaire and Alma (Gifford) Blair. Wally was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a proud member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and he was the commander of the fourth degree honor guard for the Knights of Columbus, Old Town. Wally is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Barbara (Jarvis) Blair; his daughter, Nancy Blair; his son, Glenn Blair and his wife, Kimberly; his granddaughter, Lindsey Blair; his two brothers, Robert Blair and his wife, Pauline, and Ronald Blair and his wife, Mina; his sister, Esther Ryan and her husband, Clayton; his two brothers-in-law, Donald Foster and his wife, Pat, and Maynard Paradis and his wife, Juliette; and his sister-in-law, Mary Blair. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his extremely close friends, Winston and Nancylee Mahan, and Louis and Dorothy Cloutier. Along with his parents, Wally was predeceased by his two sisters, Dorothy Foster and Virginia Paradis; and his brother, Gerald Blair. Family and friends may call 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service beginning 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Holy Family Church, Old Town.
