ORONO – James “Jimmy” Clarence Myers Sr., 58, passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 28, 1950, in Old Town, son of Joseph H. and Theresa M. (Ouellette) Myers. Jimmy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked golfing, hunting, fishing, and in his later years a good game of horseshoes. Jimmy worked as a mason for more than 30 years working for several contractors. More than anything his family was his life and he loved times with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends. He is survived by his life companion of 30 years, Debbie Cota of Orono; children, James Jr. “Jimbo” Myers and wife, Tammie, of Calais, Timothy “Tee” Myers and wife, Crystal, of Augusta, Brandon “Ham Bone” Cota of Orono and Meaghan “Peanut” Cota of Orono; grandchildren, James C. “JC” Myers III and Derek “DJ” Myers; sister, Peggy Warenski and friend, Lisa Rogers, of Bangor; brothers, Bobby Myers and wife, Bonnie, of Olamon, Joseph “Herbie” Myers and wife, Linda, of Orono and Thomas “Tom” Myers and girlfriend, Jenny, of Arizona; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Alan “Dino” Myers; and a sister, Joie Howes. A time of shared memories will be held noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where a service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. with Pastor Steven Smith, of Orono United Methodist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the memorial service 2-4 p.m. at Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, 15 Mill St., Orono.
