BEALS – Muriel F. “Dolly” Kelley, 90, died Dec. 8, 2009, at a Machias hospital. She was born July 26, 1919, on Beals Island, to Pierre and Gracie (Beal) Fagonde. She was a retired fish packer. Dolly grew up living at the Petit Manan and Seguin lighthouses giving her a special fondness for lighthouses. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading, and was especially proud of her flower garden. She was a member of Beals School Board, Jonesport-Beals CSD and Community of Christ Church, where she was the Women’s Department leader. She is survived by son, Marvin W. Kelley and wife, Joanne; and daughter, Donna Bunker and husband, Mariner, all of Beals; brother-in-law, Ernest Kelley Sr. and wife, Marilyn, of Jonesport; sister-in-law, Trenna Kelley of Beals; grandchildren, Jay Kelley and wife, Vicki, of Roque Bluffs and Wade Bunker and wife, Angelica, of Northport; and great-grandson, Joshua Dean Kelley of Beals. Aunt Dolly will be greatly missed by special niece, Eva Beal and her husband, Isaac and family. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Willard M. Kelley; her parents; and brothers, Alexis Fagonde and wife, Martha and Vernon Fagonde. A visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Community of Christ Church, Beals, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, with Pastor Terry Beal and Elder Dwight Carver officiating.
