CHERRYFIELD – God decided to call Chris Farnsworth home Dec. 9, 2009, as he tried to battle a fire in the house he shared with his mother in Cherryfield. Christopher was a hometown boy, known by all and loved by many. He spent his early years enjoying BMX biking, four-wheelers, and playing basketball and baseball with his lifelong buddy, Eric Schoppee. Chris had a love for art and would often spend time drawing in his sketchbooks. He also loved to dance and was a smooth operator out on the dance floor. In 1992 the love of Chris’ life, Brittany Marie Atwater, was born. Christopher took great pride in the accomplishments his daughter has made throughout her life. He enjoyed watching her perform in the wonderful drama productions at her schools, as well as watching her sing in the chorus at the school’s concerts. Chris was especially proud of Brittany’s academic achievements and looked forward to her upcoming graduation. He was extremely happy about her college plans and proud of what a lovely young woman she has become. Chris was a hard worker and excellent in the operation of heavy equipment. He was a shear operator with Precision Logging and later worked for Robert Ramsey in his woods operations. Chris especially enjoyed working blueberry season for Randy Perry – many would comment on how fast Chris could stack a pallet. Christopher is survived by his parents, Mary and Darrell Farnsworth; sister, Billy-Jo Stanford; brother, Danny Farnsworth and his companion, Kristine and their children, Matthew and Megan; his beloved daughter, Brittany Marie Atwater; his maternal grandmother, Alice Worcester and her husband, Conley; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris will be greatly missed by special friends, Eric, Larry-Joe, Lawrence, TBO, Lisa, Stacy and Joy; and his much loved and loyal dog, Roxie. Family and friends may call noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at First Baptist Church, 39 Main St., Cherryfield, where a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Interment will be after at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cherryfield. At the request of the family, in Chris’ honor please feel free to dress in casual attire. In memory of Chris, donations may be made to Bar Harbor Banking and Trust, 2 Bridge St., Milbridge, ME 04658. Friends and family may leave condolences to the family at www.bragdonkelley.com.
