CANTERBURY, Conn. – Richard C. Damboise, 74, of 32 Meadow Lane, beloved husband of Marie “Del” Delphina (Boucher) Damboise, died unexpectedly Nov. 25, 2009, while cutting his annual supply of wood. He was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Old Town, to Gladys (Wright) and William Damboise. He was employed throughout the years at Pinkhams Farm, Old Town; Brown and White Paper, in Connecticut; and Norwich Hospital for 27 years, retiring 12 years ago. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Theresa (White); and brother, Paul, 2 days old, in 1954. He is survived by his loving wife, Delphina; two sons, Darryll of Canterbury, Conn., and Richard II of Hawaii; two daughters, Bernadette Cartland of Manchester, Conn., and Dorie Damboise of Canterbury, Conn.; brothers, Gerald, William, Roy and Robert “Shorty”; two sisters, Mary Rustin and Barbara Desjardins; seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at St. Augustine Church, Canterbury, Conn. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the American Heart Association or St. Augustine Church, 144 Westminster Road, Canterbury, CT 06331.
