BANGOR – Dawn A. Maher, 82, wife of the late Daniel M. Maher Jr., died Dec. 11, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Bangor, the daughter of Donald V. and Dagmar A. (Skoog) Mooers. Dawn resided in Bangor and was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church for many years. She volunteered for The Attic for eight years and was very proud of the contribution she could make. Dawn graduated from Bangor High School and worked for H&R Block for many years. Dawn will always be remembered as a positive, down-to-earth individual, who looked at life as a gift to enjoy. She had a great sense of humor and found the best in everyone. Surviving are one son, Daniel M. Maher III and his wife, Cathy, of Bangor; one daughter, Pamela Farrar and her husband, Russell, of Seminole, Fla.; grandsons, Corey Maher and his wife, Rachel, of Glenburn, Ryan Maher of Manchester, N.H., Eric Farrar and his wife, Doreen, of New Mexico and Jason Farrar of Seminole, Fla.; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dawn will also be remembered by her special niece, SueEllen Kelso; and a special family friend, David Parsons. She was predeceased by her husband, parents; sister, Norma Gray; daughter, Christina; and son, Brian. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor. Burial will be in Milo in the spring.
