SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Warren Allen Workman, 83, died Dec. 12, 2009, in Bar Harbor. He was born July 6, 1926, in Nashua, N.H., a son of the late Augustus and Lena (Joy) Workman. Warren moved to Maine was he was 6 years old. He joined the Army in 1944, serving in World War II. In 1983 Warren retired from Jackson Laboratory after 33 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 69, Southwest Harbor. Warren enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Graham Lake, as well as hunting, fishing, playing games, working with wood, building things for family and friends, bowling, snowmobiling and spending time playing pool with his friends. Warren was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Elise Fernald and Vivian Conners; his daughter, Barbara Workman; and his granddaughter, Lisa Harper. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Velma (Leighton) Workman of Southwest Harbor; his daughter, Brenda Seavey and her husband, Keith, of Southwest Harbor; granddaughter, Michelle Campbell and husband, Chad, of Tremont; grandson, Kris Harper and life partner, Marie Blanchard, of Seal Cove; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Matthew, Kilee and Evan. Warren also leaves behind many extended relatives and special friends. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date for family and friends.
