OAKFIELD – Bessie E. Stockford, 105, died Dec. 15, 2009, at a local health care facility. She was born March 21, 1904, in Oakfield, daughter of Willard and Laura (Laskey) Brannen. Bessie was a lifelong member of Oakfield Baptist Church where she was very active in the missions and fellowship of the church. She loved gardening and her home was always surrounded by beautiful flowers. She so enjoyed the 15 years she was able to spend with her daughter and family in Connecticut. She is survived by her son, Dennis Stockford of Oakdale, Conn.; her daughter, Ledena Dutton of Stratford, Conn.; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ora Stockford; three brothers and four sisters. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Hodgdon Cemetery.
