WOODLAND and NEW SWEDEN – John A. Anderson, 50, died unexpectedly Dec. 18, 2009, in Presque Isle, as the result of an accident. He was born Jan. 23, 1959, in Caribou, son of the late Franklin and Edith (Philbrick) Anderson. John was a 1977 graduate of Caribou High School and had been employed by Cyr Construction for many years. He married Judy St. Peter, June 14, 1986. He was a member of Parish of the Precious Blood and attended Holy Rosary and St. Theresa’s parishes. John volunteered many hours helping at Woodland Consolidated School. He also volunteered to help with the many activities of the New Sweden Midsommer Festival. Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy of Woodland, are his beloved two daughters, Amy Marie and Emily Faith Anderson, both of Woodland. John is also survived by his twin brother, James Anderson and his wife, Joan, of Presque Isle; his three sisters, Mary Lou Moore and her husband, Lester, of Brockton, Mass., Linda Newsome and her husband, Charles, of New Sweden and Ellen Theriault and her husband, Morris, of Caribou; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alphy and Arline St. Peter of Caribou; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard St. Peter and his wife, Judy, of Caribou, Linda Bosse and her husband, Larry, of Marshfield and Darrell St. Peter and his wife, Sabina, of Caribou; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Lennon; and a nephew, Jason Anderson. Friends may call 3-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Aaron Damboise officiating. Interment will be in the spring at New Sweden Cemetery. John always put others’ needs ahead of his own and always wanted to help out wherever possible, so it was only appropriate that John also gave the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation.
