CARIBOU – Sylvia B. Ouellette, 78, died Dec. 19, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at her residence after a brief illness. She was born April 21, 1931, in Caribou, daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Plourde) Gahagan. Sylvia married Lewis Ouellette, June 27, 1955, and was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved to garden and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sylvia loved to sew and many were the recipients of her beautiful handy work. Surviving in addition to her husband of more than 54 years, Lewis of Caribou, are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Ouellette of Woodland and Peter Ouellette and his fiancee, Terri Hallowell, of Caribou; six daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Randy Dodd of Woodland, Peggy and Bobby Winquest of Holly Hill, S.C., Connie and John Lloyd of Caribou, Ann and Kevin Chapman of Woodland, Lori and Alan DeToma of Summerville, S.C., and Lisa and Art Berkoski of Caribou; three sisters, Bea Doody and Marie Cullins, both of Caribou, and Shirley Tracy of Somersworth, N.H.; two brothers, Lawrence Gahagan of Caribou and Irvin Gahagan of Missouri; 20 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ouellette was predeceased by a son, Paul; three stepbrothers, Irvin, Reginald and Albert Gagne; a sister, Verna Perreault; two brothers, Thomas and Junior Gahagan; and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Lloyd. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thurs-day, Dec. 24, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
