OLD TOWN – Anita A. Ewer, 56, died Dec. 21, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital after a prolonged illness. She was born July 14, 1953, in Old Town, a daughter of Robert and Avis (Young) Ewer. She is survived by two children, Charissa Pattershall and Joel Ewer; two stepchildren, Debbie Hall, and Ronnie Thurston and wife, Deanna; her mother, Avis; six grandchildren; three sisters and their husbands, Roxanne Estabrook and her husband, Clayton, Sharon Pattershall and her husband, Richard, and Pamela Walton and husband, Darrell; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Christopher Ewer; her lifelong companion of 30 years, Ralph “Sonny” Thurston; brother, Aaron; and father, Robert. A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, with Pastor Garnett Chute officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service. Spring burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
