GOULDSBORO – Virginia “Ginny” Dyer, 76, wife of Peter M. Dyer, died peacefully Dec. 30, 2009, surrounded by her family at her family home in Gouldsboro. She was born May 23, 1933, in Winter Harbor, the daughter of James and Ora (Leighton) Torrey. Ginny was a graduate of Winter Harbor High School, Class of 1952. She worked at Stinson’s Seafood Co., Prospect Harbor, for many years. She made wreaths for most of her life and shared many fond memories of performing that task. She was a masterful cook and had a great love of dancing. Ginny lived her life with true grit and provided a wonderful framework for her family, for which they will be at loss. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Peter; daughter, Dixie of Ogunquit; son, Owen and partner, James, of York; son, Ricky of Gouldsboro; and three grandchildren, Lacey, Meagan and Cameron. Virginia will be missed by her family and many special friends. She now enters another great realm, in peace. A reception for family and friends will be held 3-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge.
