ASHLAND – Tammy J. Doyle, 42, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at her sister’s home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Boston, the daughter of Leo M. Doyle of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Mary P. (Lydon) Doyle of Mansfield, Mass. She was educated in Mansfield and had attended Unity College. Prior to her illness, Tammy was a graduate of Maine State Police Academy. After graduation she was assigned to the F Troop, where she worked for more than 12 years. During this time, she became a top handler and trainer in their K-9 unit. Tammy was also an avid advocate for all animals and operated an animal rescue service. In addition to her parents, she leaves two brothers, John Doyle of Winchester, Mass., and Leo Doyle of Maine; one sister, Debra Bosworth and her husband, George, of Taunton, Mass.; two nieces and four nephews, Jessica, Shannon, Patrick, Nicholas and Stephen Bosworth of Taunton, Mass., and Devlin Doyle of Sarasota, Fla.; one great-nephew, Zachary Peirce of Taunton, Mass; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton St., Taunton, Mass. Visiting hours are omitted.
