AUGUSTA, Maine — A former president of Bath Iron Works has been nominated for a seat on the Maine Maritime Academy Board of Trustees.

Gov. John Baldacci announced Dugan Shipway’s nomination last week. Shipway, of Bath, is retired. He became BIW president after a 35-year U.S. Navy career.

Baldacci has also nominated Victoria Larson of Windham for reappointment to the academy board. Larson is a vice president for TD Bank and served in the Navy from 1980 until 1998.

Those and several other nominations by Baldacci face legislative committee review and Senate confirmation votes.
