PHOENIX – Cecile L. Smith, 95, formerly of St. Albans, lovingly known as mom and grandmere, died Dec. 19, 2009, in Phoenix. She was born April 29, 1914, in Wallagrass, the daughter of Wilfred and Leah L’abbe. She married E. Everett Smith, who was a locally well-known barber in Hampden Highlands. After his death in 1991, she moved to Arizona and spent her last years so happy and close to her large family. She leaves her daughter, Claudette Owens and her husband, Alan, of Phoenix; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Maloon Cemetery, Grant Road, St. Albans. Care provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. “Rest peacefully Mom.
