FRENCHVILLE and ST. FRANCIS – Alberie Edward Jandreau, 93, passed away Jan. 3, 2010. He was born March 25, 1916, in St. Francis, the son of Edward and Celina (Pelletier) Jandreau. He attended schools in St. Francis, where he lived all of his life. He was a self-employed logging contractor for the state of Maine until his retirement in the early 1980s. Alberie was well known for his keen knowledge, recollections of the past and avid storytelling. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Alberie was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Verna Thibodeau, in 1990; brothers, Joseph, Omer and Albert; and sisters, Rita Pelletier and Violet Michaud. He is survived by his brothers, Dudley and his wife, Rita, of Bristol, Conn., George and his wife, Odette, of Caribou, and Alva and his wife, Nadine, of St. Francis; sister, Lorraine and her husband, Maynard Guerrette, of Cohoes, N.Y.; one son, Joseph and his companion, Doreen Belanger, of St. John; six daughters, Rachel Bouchard of Soldier Pond, Joan and her companion, Galen Thibeault, of Caribou, Aline and her husband, Edric Morin, of Ellsworth, Norma and her husband, Colin Jackson, of Allagash, Liela of St. Francis, and Tammy and her husband, Benny Nadeau, of St. Francis; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Spring burial will be held May 21 at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
