NORTHPORT – Jeanette E. Hatch, 67, died Jan. 5, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital, after a period of failing health. Jeanette was born Nov. 15, 1942, in Bucksport, a daughter of the late Joseph E. And A. Evelyn (Bossie) Johnson. She grew up in Bucksport and attended local schools. She will be remembered as a very thoughtful, loving person who always put the needs of others above herself. Jeanette was a homemaker and was employed for many years at the former Penobscot Poultry plant and then Bradbury-Harbor Hill Nursing Home, Belfast. She loved to knit, sew, read, sing, play cards, and spend time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Robert N. Hatch of Northport, Jeanette is survived by her sister, Sheila Connor of Camden; and brothers, Marc Johnson of Florida and Brian Johnson and his wife, Preil, of Bucksport; her sons, Robert Hatch and his companion, Deloris, of Swanville, Brian Hatch and his wife, Debbie, of New Hampshire, Roy Hatch and his wife, Laura, of Waldoboro and Richard Hatch and his wife, Amy, of Canton; her daughter, Lisa and her companion, David, of Belfast; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Verley Warren of Northport. A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Belfast VFW, 34 Field St., Belfast. Spring interment will be at the family lot in Bucksport. Arrangements are under the direction of Smeltzer Family Cremation and Funeral Service, Waldoboro.
