YARMOUTH – Lucienne Lucille Dufour, 85, died Jan. 5, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Portland. She was born April 3, 1924, in St. Agatha, one of seven children of Delia (Guerrette) and Victor Dufour. She was educated in Madawaska schools and graduated from Madawaska High School, Class of 1943. After graduation she worked at J.J. Newberry, Madawaska, for a few years and then moved to Connecticut and worked for Kaman Aircraft for nine years. She then moved to Freeport where she worked at Eastland Shoe, and retired in 1983. In 1985, Lucienne moved to Yarmouth and became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister. Her faith was a very important and integral part of her life. Lucienne enjoyed traveling, especially “up to camp” in The County. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards and games with family and was known as “Grammie Cile” to her nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Lucienne was a quiet person who had the gift of making those around her feel loved. Lucienne is survived by two sisters, Blanche Michaud of Yarmouth and Sister Louise Dufour of New York; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Main Street, Yarmouth, with a reception in the church hall after the service. Burial will be in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yarmouth.
