HOULTON – Carl M. Williams, 92, died Jan. 10, 2010, at a local health care facility. He was born March 26, 1917, in Amity, the son of Bert and Elzie (Daugherty) Williams. After years of working on the family farm, Carl moved to Connecticut and was employed with Pratt & Whitney for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing cards and had a great love of tinkering with motors of all kinds. He is survived by two sons, Stephen C. Williams of Bristol, Conn., and Duane M. and his wife, Peggy Williams, of Sherwood, Alaska; one daughter, Valerie A. Stockwell of Old Town; one sister, Arlene Jackson of South Windsor, Conn.; two granddaughters, Maria Williams and Stephanie Stockwell; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Rugan) Williams; four brothers, Vinal, Payson, Eugene and Averill; and three sisters, Edna, Opal and Pauline. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be announced in the spring.
