SEVERNA PARK, Md. – Mary Elizabeth “Libby” (Rice) Osborn, 86, passed away Jan. 8, 2010, after a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1923, in Bangor, to Charles and Helen (Duggan) Rice. She was a 1941 graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School and a 1945 graduate of Regis College, Weston, Mass. She enjoyed an “active life,” starting everyday with the Washington Post Crossword Puzzle. She was an excellent cook and an avid bridge player, who also enjoyed needle work and family gatherings. Lib and Oz took pleasure in traveling during their retirement. A much beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Howard P. Osborn, who died Jan. 17, 1994. She is survived by four children, Marie A. Osborn of Manchester, Conn., Barbara and Carl Perusich of Medway Mass., Chuck and Cathy Osborn of Hammond, Minn., and Paul and Lisa Osborn of Germantown, Md.; and four grandchildren, Nick, Ashley and Tyler of Minnesota and Sean of Maryland. Family and friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, Md. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, Md. Interment will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Arlington National Cemetery.
