ELLSWORTH, Maine — Black ice Friday morning caused problems for motorists throughout Hancock County.
Police reported numerous accidents during the morning commute, including one that closed Route 3 in Orland briefly while crews removed a vehicle from a ditch near the Big Apple convenience store.
The accidents were widespread and kept emergency crews busy between 7 and 9 a.m. Friday.
Several people were treated for injuries, but none was serious, according to police.
