MERIDEN, Conn. – Ann Leta (McNamara) Prue, 82, wife of the late Elwood Prue, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden, Conn. Born in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Ruth E. (Robinson) McNamara. Ann lived in Meriden, Conn., for the past 57 years, worked at Barkers Store as a manager in the domestics department where she enjoyed working with draperies and linens, and also worked for AG & C, South Meriden, Conn. She loved country & western music, reading about health, board games, sporting events and the beach. Ann was a hard worker and a wonderful mother who loved her family very much. She is survived by three sons, Daniel Prue of Wallingford, Joseph Prue and Raymond Prue, both of Meriden, Conn.; a daughter, Linda A. York of Coventry, Conn.; two brothers, John McNamara of Wallingford, Conn., and Phillip McNamara of Andover, Conn.; four sisters, Ruth Theiriault of Meriden, Conn., June Tucker of New Hampshire, Ada Tucker of Maine, and Polly Lamb of Florida; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles McNamara Sr.; and three sisters, Laura Morin, Annette Carney and Elizabeth Lenfest. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown, Conn., where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22. Interment will be after at State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, Conn.
