BANGOR – Frances L. Kenny, 83, passed away peacefully Jan. 14, 2010, while surrounded by her four boys, at a local nursing home. She was born March 10, 1926, in Portland. Fran was married for 63 years to her loving and dedicated husband, Wilbert M. Kenny Jr., who passed away in January 2009. Fran and Will worked and lived in New York, where they raised their beloved four sons. Fran proudly served as a registered nurse for many years while Will worked more than 30 years at St. Regis Paper Co. before retiring in 1987. Upon retirement, they moved to New Hampshire and then onto Bangor in 1993. Both Fran and Will loved the game of golf, which became the focal point of their shared lives, and spent memorable time together leaving footprints in the early morning dew on a local golf course. Fran and Will dedicated themselves to their family: sons, Robert of Whidbey Island, Wash., Paul of Sun Valley, Idaho, Kevin of Hampden and Steven of Huntly, Va. They are also loved and remembered by their four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Fran and Will’s lives were equally blessed by their respective loving parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. We will always treasure and remember their love, laughter and dedication. We each breathe a little easier because of their love – their four boys!
