HOULTON – Hilda A. Ramsey, 84, died Jan. 17, 2010, at a local health care facility. She was born April 28, 1925, in Houlton, daughter of Leroy and Annie Elsie (Brewer) Foster. Hilda was a member of Military Street Baptist Church and was well known as the Elm Tree Diner cook for many years. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts, baking and going to Canada for Sunday dinners at her daughters. Hilda is survived by her son, John A. Ramsay and his wife, Elsie, of Houlton; three daughters, Donna Michaud and her husband, Frank, of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Etta Ramsay of Arundel, and Karla Ramsay of Island Falls; nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Jeannie Henderson and Anna Jones, both of Houlton; three sisters-in-law, Marie Bither, Barbara Foster and Arlene Coyle; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; four brothers, Bertrand, Hayden, Merle and Cyril; and three sisters, Raida Tyrell, Phillis Jay and Geraldine Henderson. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
