FORT FAIRFIELD – Donald A. Bishop Jr., 80, husband of the late Theresa D. (Johndro) Bishop, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 19, 2010, at a Mars Hill health care facility. He was born Feb. 4, 1929, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Donald A. Sr. and Elva (Topham) Bishop. A lifelong resident of Fort Fairfield, Donald was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1948. He was married to Theresa D. Johndro in June 1949 and had been employed at the former A&P Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield, for more than 30 years. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his wife, Theresa, March 19, 2002; and one sister, Evelyn Bishop. He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn A. Bishop of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Mary B. Hanson of Lexington, Ky.; one grandson, Stephen Bishop McGarrigle; and one great-grandson, Reed Bishop McGarrigle, both of Hingham, Mass.; one nephew, Stephen Hanson of Pembroke; and two nieces, Susan Hanson of Lexington, Ky., and Jane Hanson of Hilton Head, S.C. In keeping with Donald’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at United Parish Church, 4 Church St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Diane Langworthy officiating. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
