BANGOR – Jacquelyn “Jackie” Doll, 62, died Jan. 20, 2010, surrounded by family and friends, at home, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Bangor, the daughter of Louis J. and Elizabeth A. (Cowing) Elias. Jackie graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1966. After graduation, she attended Husson College School of Business. In 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, G. Richard “Rick” Doll and they settled in Bangor. They celebrated 40 years of marriage in June. Jackie recently celebrated her retirement from Eastern Maine Medical Center after a 40-year career. She organized and participated in many community service groups associated with EMMC as well. Jackie was a lifetime member of the 65-year-old “YAC Year Around Club,” Bangor Boosters, and St. John’s Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and loved nothing more than sharing quality time with her family. Her granddaughter Arria’s smile lit up the room whenever Mimi appeared in the doorway! Surviving are her mother, Elizabeth “Betty” (Cowing) Elias of Bangor; her husband, G. Richard “Rick” Doll of Bangor; son, Shawn R. Doll and his wife, Kimberly (Savage) Doll, of Rockport; a granddaughter, Arria Marie Doll; brother, Richard “Rick” Elias and his partner, M. Jeffrey Ward, of South Portland; a sister-in-law, Sharon Elias of Bangor; nephew, Dr. John Elias and his wife, Dr. Leah Elias, of Delaware; four nieces, Joy (Elias) Cassidy and her husband, Andrew Cassidy, of Glenburn, Kaila, Kara and Karissa Doll, all of Bangor; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her father, Louis J. Elias, Jackie was predeceased by a brother, John L. Elias; and her in-laws, George A. Doll, Mary F. Doll and Thomas M. Doll. The family would like to thank all her wonderful friends and coworkers who have rallied around her during this difficult time. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the interment at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
