HUDSON – Ronald “Jav” E. Whitehead, devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully Jan. 20, 2010, at his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1945, in Millinocket, the son of Harold and Arleine Whitehead. Jav was raised in Millinocket and attended the University of Maine, Orono, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering with a minor in computer programming. He left Maine in 1970 to follow his career with a promise to eventually return. He did just that and returned to a camp on Little Pushaw Lake, where he and the love of his life, Paula, lived happily for 12 years. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Paula; his two sons, Travis and Ron Jr.; his daughter, Lori Kertis; and his grandkids, Kevin and Dylan Kertis, and Cole and Cooper Whitehead. Jav will never be forgotten. He had been a gift from God. The family thanks New Hope Hospice. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
