AUGUSTA, Maine — Some Maine hunters and anglers are upset the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife released their e-mail addresses to a sportsman’s organization.
The Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine obtained a list of 100,000 e-mails after filing a Freedom of Access Act request with the department.
The Maine Attorney General’s office ruled the alliance should get the addresses.
The e-mails are on file because of online hunting and fishing licensing procedures.
WMTW-TV says the organization it wanted the list so it could provide information to hunters about coyotes.
