CHAPMAN – Robert C. Walters, 80, died Friday night, Jan. 22, 2010, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. He was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Harold H. and Edna (Bronson) Walters. He worked as a long haul truck driver for 45 years, with his wife, Lavone, being a co-driver with him for 20 years. Bob enjoyed riding his John Deere tractor. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lavonia (Rover) Walters of Chapman; a daughter, Melinda Turner and her husband, Ronald, of Chapman; a brother, William Walters and his wife, Susan, of Waterloo, Iowa; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Douglas Gilson of Chapman and Chris and Narmin Turner of Derry, N.H.; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Briana Gilson of Chapman. He was predeceased by a son, Jim Walters. Relatives and friends may call 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Grant Memorial Methodist Church, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Ronald Chaffee officiating. Immediately after the service, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
