PLEASANT POINT – Alessa Jane Nicholas, infant daughter of April and John Nicholas, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 22, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. Alessa was predeceased by maternal great-grandparents, Stanley and Loraine Francis; and paternal great-grandfather, John Harrison Nicholas. In addition to her parents, Alessa is survived by a sister, Trinity Francis of Pleasant Point; paternal great-grandparents, Joseph R. Neptune Sr. and his wife, Genivieve, and Martha Nicholas, all of Pleasant Point; maternal grandparents, Donald Stanley Sr. of Pleasant Point and Pamela Francis of Tobique First Nation, New Brunswick; paternal grandparents, Arlene and Bruce Wiggins of Pleasant Point and John and Carolyn Nicholas of Dennysville; four aunts, Melissa Francis-Bassett, Karrie Newell, Tonya McCoy and Nicole Lewey-Jones; three uncles, John Stanley, Donald Stanley Jr. and James Louis Nicholas, who is also the proud godfather to Alessa, with Seana Tompkins as her godmother. Friends may call 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the home of April and John Nicholas, 32 Little River Drive, Pleasant Point. A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne’s R.C. Church, Pleasant Point, by Father James Plourde. Interment will be afterward at Tribal Cemetery.
