PRESQUE ISLE – Willie Beaulieu, 95, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Southern Acres Boarding Home, Westfield. He was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Ashland, the son of Henry and Rose (Theriault) Beaulieu. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. Willie owned and operated Willie’s Market on North Main Street, Presque Isle, and then worked at Graves Shop & Save. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Presque Isle. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Stantial) Beaulieu of Westfield; two sons, Robert Gillis of Harrisville, N.H., and Thomas H. Beaulieu and his wife, Linda, of Frenchville; a brother, John Beaulieu of Ashland; four sisters, Phoebe Jenkins of Ashland, Catherine Lee of Portland, Shirley Bushey and Judy Carpentier, both of Florida; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Jessie, George and Alfred; three sisters, Mandy St. Peter, Mabel Suskuski and Pauline Fenderson; and a great-grandson, Skyye. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Dan Rayner officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Spring interment with military honors will be at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
