JONESPORT – Daniel S. Davis, 67, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Jonesport, to Harold Chandler Sr. and Glenna Davis Chandler. Daniel was a truck driver for Goding Cement Co. and also worked as a long distance truck driver and woodsman, working as a tree harvester and loader. However, the job he enjoyed most was clamming and lobster fishing. He loved to laugh and joke around and always had a smile for those he met. Daniel also loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter who liked to go camping. He is survived by three brothers, Orrin Chandler and Harold Chandler Jr., both of Jonesport, and Roger Chandler of Hancock; four sisters, Ola Reynolds of Steuben, Edith Clark of Cherryfield, Marla Kenney and Ora Farnsworth, both of Jonesport; special aunt, Marjorie Berry of Machiasport; and sister-in-law, Faye Ryan of East Machias. Daniel also leaves behind many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty; and maternal grandparents, Winslow “Bucket” Davis and Adelaide Davis. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Machias, with Pastor Bill Holmes officiating.
