FORT FAIRFIELD and FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Marilyn Audrey Thibeau, 78, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at an Arlington, Va., hospice facility, after a brief illness. She was born May 30, 1931, in Boston, the daughter of the late Merton and Doris (Smith) Thibeau. She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1948, and was a communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. After her high school graduation, Marilyn served her country in the U.S. Woman’s Army Corps. After serving in the military and working briefly in the Fort Fairfield area, Marilyn moved to Washington, D.C., and accepted a position as secretary in the Judge Advocate General’s office at the Pentagon, where she worked until her retirement. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by two sisters, Delores Thibeau Williams and Francine Thibeau Austin; and one brother, H. Wallace Thibeau. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Barry K. and Mary Lou Thibeau of Fort Fairfield and Peter T. and Ruth Lockhart-Thibeau of Bangor; and three sisters, M. Andrea Thibeau of Washington, D.C., Claire Thibeau Cousins of Clearwater, Fla., and Tamara Thibeau Gallant of Palm Harbor, Fla. Marilyn also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service, reception and burial where she will be laid to rest beside her parents and brother, Wallace, will be conducted in June, to be announced at a later date.
