CRANSTON, R.I., and BANGOR – William Thomas “Tommy” LeMay, 36, died unexpectedly March 1, 2010, at his residence in Cranston, R.I. He was born July 28, 1973, in Lewiston, the son of Joseph E. and Judith (Field) LeMay. Tommy graduated from Bangor High School in 1991 and then attended Johnson & Wales University, Providence, R.I., graduating with a degree in culinary arts. During his schooling at Johnson & Wales University, he worked at Culinary Arts Museum. He then moved to Bangor during his mother’s terminal illness and worked for The Coffee Shop at the Bangor airport and Cakes by Jan, Bangor. He returned to Providence, R.I., and worked for Providence Convention and Visitors Bureau. Later, he began working at Russell Morin Fine Catering as an event coordinator. It was here that his skills and abilities flourished. Tommy had a passion for preparing food and for preparing events for his customers. He took great pride in his work and in making his customers and friends happy with every meal and event he prepared. He is survived by his father, Joseph “Tim” LeMay Jr. of Bangor; a brother, Joseph “Curt” LeMay III and his fianc?e, Stephanie Shorey, of Bucksport; and one cousin, Jason Stockford of Providence, R.I. Tommy was close friends with Elizabeth Buckley and her husband, Eric and their children, Griffin and Grace Gardner. Tommy was godfather to Grace Gardner. During his career at Russell Morin Fine Catering, Tommy developed a close friendship with Russell Morin Jr., his employer and his family. He had numerous friends and acquaintances in the Providence, R.I., area. Tommy was predeceased by his mother whom he adored, Judith (Field) LeMay, in 1997. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of chaplaincy of Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
