GREENBUSH – Raymond E. Barclay, 76, died peacefully March 4, 2010, surrounded by family at his residence. He was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Medford, Mass., a son of Raymond L. and Anne G. (Wood) Barclay. He was a Korean War veteran, having served with the U.S. Air Force in radar operations. He graduated from Husson College, Bangor, with a degree in accounting. He was employed in various industries including accounting and woods operations, and as a security guard. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Schvertt Barclay of Greenbush; two sons, Gary R. Barclay and his wife, Deborah C., of Biddeford, and Robert L. Barclay and his wife, Jennifer, of Saco; stepson, Wade Philbrick and his wife, Ruth, of Greenbush; three stepdaughters, Joni Schvertt of Bangor, Claudia Schvertt of Old Town and Silvana Schvertt of Bangor; grandsons, Robert R. Barclay of Portland, Jeremy McGrath of Saco and Ryan Bar-clay of Saco; granddaughters, Kristen R. Barclay of Boston, Holly Paquette of Old Orchard Beach, Marina Hall of Biddeford and Erika Barclay of Saco; eight great-granddaughters; stepgrandsons, Jesse Ramos and Skylar Schvertt, both of Bangor; stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Philbrick of Greenbush; a brother, Robert L. Barclay and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lexington, Mass.; and a sister, Faye Dudley of Florida. Interment with military honors will be conducted at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
