LINCOLN – Charlotte Marie (Mason) Ryder, born Feb. 13, 1920, in Enfield, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 4, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln. At 90 years old she lived a life full of love and saw many changes in this world – which she was never shy to remind us all about! With the exception of a very brief stint in Florida, she resided most of her life in Maine. Her greatest ambition, and accomplishment, in life was to raise a happy, healthy family held together by love, laughter and familial devotion. A survivor of the Great Depression and many wars, she was always a hard worker and did her best to help others. She was predeceased by her husband, George Ryder; daughter, Christine (Ryder) Nelson; as well as all of her siblings. She is survived by her son, Maurice Ryder of Washburn; son-in-law, Richard Nelson of Lincoln; and an extensive network of family and friends, all of whom she shared very close relationships with. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the family legacy she’s left behind. There will be no funeral services at her request. A graveside service in the spring will be announced.
