OLD TOWN – Harold J. “Sonny” Field Sr., 77, passed away March 12, 2010, with his loving family by his side at his home. Harold was born Oct. 15, 1932, the son of Jerome and Marianne (Legere) Field. Harold proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of American Legion Post No. 75, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3381 and Holy Family Church, Old Town. He enjoyed participating in the Old Town Memorial Day Parade every year, taking car trips with his wife to visit family, and going about town on his scooter. Harold is survived by his seven children, Donna Gilbert and her husband, Michael, John Field and his wife, Jane, of Flordia, Janice Ross and her significant other, Kevin Michaud, Harold Field Jr. and his wife, Lori, Michael Field and his wife, Barbara, Sheila Tardiff and her husband, Michael, and Lisa Farrell; and one brother, Wilfred “Pat” Field and his wife, Lisa. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernice; and his daughter, Rose. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where family and friends are invited to call 1 p.m. until the time of service.
