VAN BUREN – Ida Ayotte, 95, passed away March 13, 2010, at Leisure Village Retirement Center, Presque Isle. She was born July 20, 1914, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, the daughter of Georges and Alesse (Dube) Sirois, and later was raised by Eugenie and Napoleon Cyr of St. Leonard, New Brunswick. She was the wife of Charles Ayotte, a potato grower and shipper in the Van Buren area. Charles and Ida had four girls, Charlene, Ann Marie, Janice and Adria. She enjoyed her time there and benefited from the excellent care given by the staff. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Phillip Sargent of Presque Isle; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1995; and three daughters, Charlene Ayotte, Ann Marie Fournier and Adria Saf. The family thanks Pam Michaud, and Tony and Irene Levesque for the help they gave Ida during her later years at home in Van Buren. The family is also grateful to Lily Perreault for the wonderful, uplifting kindness and friendship she has given Ida during the last 10 years. A Mass celebrating Ida’s life will be held at the chapel of Servants of The Blessed Sacrament, Edmundston, New Brunswick.
