VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Julie Marie (Verow) O’Connor, 45, went to be with the Lord March 17, 2010, after a courageous battle against brain cancer. Julie was born and raised in Brewer. Julie graduated from John Bapst High School in 1983. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Husson College in 1987, she went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for six years as a nurse. After relocating to Virginia Beach, Va., she completed her Master of Science degree in nursing at Old Dominion University and became a family nurse practitioner. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, Va. Julie is survived by her husband, Timothy O’Connor; daughter, Abby O’Connor; parents, Arthur and Frances Verow; brother, Todd Verow; and sister, Suzette Furrow. She was an awesome mother and wife, caring and generous to all, full of passion for life, adored by all who knew her. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, Virginia Beach, Va., where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 25, with the Rev. Timothy Kuhneman officiating. The burial will afterward at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church for a reception after the burial.
