BANGOR – Richard Bertrand Baldwin Jr. died March 16, 2010, at a local hospital. Richard was born April 20, 1933, in Bangor, a son of the late Richard Sr. and Dorothy E. (Giarvan) Baldwin. He was a graduate of Bangor High School and attended Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and served in the National Guard. Richard worked for Canadian Pacific Railroad and Bangor and Aroostook Railroad. He also worked for various construction jobs. Richard will be remembered by his family and friends for being an avid reader and a great storyteller. Richard is survived by his stepbrother, Dave Baldwin and his wife, Mary Helen; aunts, Evelyn Baldwin and Dorothy Giarvan; a special cousin, Margaret Berry and her husband, Edwin; as well as many other cousins, Brenda Baldwin, Billy Giarvan, Mary Call and Barbara Rozell. Due to Richard’s affection for cats, the family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
