PALMYRA – Beulah G. Harvey, 82, died March 22, 2010, at her residence. She was born July 5, 1927, in Newport, the daughter of Clinton and Irene (Stuart) Leavitt. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1944. Beulah was employed in area shoe shops, retiring from Dexter Shoe Co. in 1987. She is survived by a son, Don Hawthorne and wife, Elaine, of Gray; a daughter, Donna Kaherl and husband, Jerry, of Palmyra; a stepson, Clayton Harvey Jr.; three stepdaughters, Maureen Reynolds, Cheryl Newton and Joy Hardage; four grandchildren, Brad Hawthorne and wife, Cressi, Shawn Hawthorne, Don Kaherl and Erica Kaherl; one great-grandson, Tyler; five stepgrandchildren and her many bingo friends. Beulah was predeceased by her first husband, Don Hawthorne, in 1979; and her second husband, Clayton Harvey, in 1998. Graveside committal services will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
