CHERRYFIELD – Richard R. Smith, 69, died March 28, 2010, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1940, in Milbridge, a son of the late Brian and Charlotte (Gower) Smith. Richard worked various jobs throughout his life in the construction industry and as a security guard. He leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Patsy Smith of Cherryfield; two stepsons, Michael Grant of Harrington and Robert Grant of Cherryfield; and his brother, Francis Smith and his wife, Doris, of Milbridge. The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility for the wonderful care Richard received while he was a resident there. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 1, Cherryfield. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge.
