MADAWASKA – Joseph J. Plourde, 93, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born Oct. 21, 1916, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, the son of Satuinin and Elise (Pelletier) Plourde. Joseph was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church as well as a member of Madawaska Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Council No. 2638. He is survived by three sons, Reginald Plourde of Middletown, Conn., David Plourde and his wife, Merilda, of Madawaska, and Robert Plourde of Irving, Texas; one daughter, Mary-Ann Goddard and her husband, Kenneth, of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tammy, Scott, Mark, Amanda, Michael, Alexandra and Denise, who were also his godchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kristie, Zachery, Emma, Joshua, Noah, Nicholas, Amber, Tyler, Jessica, Nicole and Olivia; three sisters, Alfreda Davenport of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Florence Plourde of Vermont and Priscilla Exworth of Montreal; and one brother, Edwin Plourde of Grand Falls, Canada. Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife, Anita Laura (Gagnon) Plourde, in 1990; one sister, Geraldine Beauchemin; and one brother, Ephrem Plourde. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and noon until time of service Tuesday at Lajoie Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
