Her weight didn’t land her huge sitcom success in “Fat Actress,” so now Kirstie Alley has taken her battle of the bulge to reality TV.

A&E has picked up “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life” and the first episode aired a couple of weeks ago. But don’t worry — you can still catch the initial rounds at www.aetv.com.

At the site, you also can play the “Size Matters” game, which is a lot like Pac-Man and slightly addicting. But back to the show.

It’s a combination of “The Biggest Loser” and any one of the numerous reality spots that follow America’s celebs through their daily lives. Of course, she’s also got another gimmick on the side as she launches her own weight loss company in the first episode.

While I admit she’s a funny one, I can’t see this catching on and having much success after the first season. Yet, having struggled with my own weight, I know she doesn’t have an easy road ahead of her and I wish her the best.

On the topic of bumpy roads, my DVR is about to find itself being tossed out the window onto one. “Undercover Boss” and “The Celebrity Apprentice” are in conflicting timeslots for Sunday night viewing, so we’ve been recording the first and remaining glued to the TV for the latter.

When I went to watch “Undercover Boss” this week, I found that it started late (likely due to a sporting event on before the show that went over in time) and the ending wasn’t recorded. As with many television shows, I know the full episode is online in this high-tech world, but it took such a long time to load and I couldn’t fast forward so I got disgusted and never saw what happened with amusement park CEO Joel Manby.

What did I learn from this experience? Always check what’s scheduled to be on before the show you want to record to ensure the timing is right. Otherwise, you wind up with a disgruntled Man on the Couch and a cranky columnist.
