MAXFIELD – Linda J. Spencer, 57, passed away April 3, 2010, with her loving family at her side, at her home. Linda was born Oct. 20, 1952, in Calais, daughter of Winnifred (McLellan) and Stanley Gordon. Linda loved spending time with her family. Linda was extremely crafty. There was nothing she couldn’t make or bake, but her favorite pastime was working on genealogy. Linda was a great caregiver, especially to her mother, whom she nurtured to the end. Linda is survived by her loving and caring husband, Ralph; her three adoring children, Stephanie Tibbetts and her husband, Carl, of North Carolina, Ralph Spencer Jr. of South Carolina, and Amy Spencer and her very special friend, Jerry Sawyer, of Maxfield; three wonderful grandchildren, Justin Stratton of Passadumkeag, Matthew and Makayla Dourant of Maxfield; seven siblings, Carol and “Mike” Leeman, Vicky and Everett Espling, Loyce Trott, Joyce Dollenger, Royce Gordon Sr. and Debbie, Wanda and “Buster” Frye, and “Missy” Zimmer and their families; one aunt, Elenor and “Sonny” Wentworth; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was predeceased by her mother, Winnifred Carter; and her father, Stanley Gordon. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Alan Porter officiating.
