ASHLAND – Joseph C. O’Clair, 84, died unexpectedly April 8, 2010, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Sheridan, the son of Felix and Sophie (Boulier) O’Clair. Joseph was employed in road construction for Great Northern Paper Co. for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of LeBlanc-Junkins Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9699, Ashland. Joseph is survived by one daughter, Julie Halperin and her husband, Arthur, of Endicott, N.Y.; one sister, Josephine Jimmo of Belfast; one brother, Gilbert “Sonny” O’Clair and his wife, Charlene, of Ashland; one grandson, David Duprey; and special friend and companion of many years, Marie Ouellet of Ashland. He is predeceased by his wife, Alice (Egan) O’Clair, in 1989; and one daughter, Susan Duprey. There will be no services at this time. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, at a later date. Those who wish may contribute to a charity of one’s choice.
